The Cabins at Sandy Mush Bald

Sandy Mush’s log huts are located on the highest mountain of the Newfound Mountains in the Appalachian Mountains in the state of North Carolina, USA. They are open from April to November. From here, hiking trails lead through the wild natural landscape with a rich flora and fauna. The well-equipped log cabins in the middle of nature were built with the aim of appreciating and preserving the history, culture and wilderness of the Appalachian Mountains. Cell phone reception is only possible to a limited extent in this mountainous area. The huts themselves have neither WiFi nor internet access. You park your car at Hwy 209, and from where you can reach the lodge on the mountain after three quarters of an hour to an hour on foot.
