Earthaven Ecovillage
The Earthaven Ecovillage is a settlement of 30 wooden, straw bale and mud houses, embedded in the forest on a foothill of the Southern Appalachian Mountains in North Carolina, USA. This working and living space was founded in 1994 for people who would like to spend their future with each other and with nature. You can get to know the community through guided tours and workshops. Participants have the opportunity to spend the night on the Ecovillage camping ground. In addition, simply furnished rooms, apartments or small houses are rented to guests who are willing to be active members of the community for the duration of their stay (with at least 4 working hours per week). As part of a “Live & Work” program (with at least 24 working hours per week), guests can also get free board and lodging. Earthaven is WiFi-free.
