Ökotel Hamburg

The Ökotel in northern Hamburg was built from environmentally friendly materials and is operated according to ecological principles. This includes a solar power system with connected cogeneration plant and the use of rainwater for toilet flushing as well as the shielding of all power cords to reduce electric smog. All rooms are equipped with ecological materials (solid wood furniture and wood floors). No cordless phones are used in the house. In the restaurant hotel guests can enjoy organic food and organic wines.
Apart from rooms of various sizes there is also an apartment available, as well as a larger family apartment. All rooms are equipped with minibar, TV, telephone and tethered Internet access. On request guests who wish to go online with iPad or iPhone are provided with an access point. Therefore, electro-sensitive guests should explicitly book „Wi-Fi free“, in order that a room can be selected that is not adjacent to a WLAN-using guest.
