Queen Anne’s Summerhouse

This folly, the former summerhouse of Queen Anne is situated in a clearing surrounded pine wood at the edge of Shuttleworth estate near Old Warden in Bedfordshire, England. The building is a 18th-century brickwork. Inside is an elegant bedsit with kitchenette, in one of the turrets a spiral staircase winds up to the roof terrace and down to the vaulted cellar, now a bathroom. It was there where the servants once prepared refreshments. Like all buildings managed by the Landmark Trust also Queen Anne’s Summerhouse has no TV and no WiFi. Surrounded by an enchanting landscape, this is an ideal place for a relaxing holiday.
