Aspros Potamos

The listed holiday complex Aspros Potamos consists of a group of ten old stone houses that were built there 300 years ago high above the coast in southern Crete. The decor is simple and is intended to remind you of life in earlier times. There are no cars on the premises. A photovoltaic system supplies the entire system with electricity for outdoor lighting, for reading lamps in the houses, light in the bathrooms, for the refrigerators and for hot water for showering. Otherwise there are no power lines and sockets in the houses. There are candles and oil lamps to illuminate the houses. At the reception, guests can charge the batteries of their mobile devices, go online, use WiFi and borrow books. The owners describe their property as follows: “Our accommodation was built with […] a lot of love for nature. Because we attach great importance to the environment and low energy consumption, our guests can see that tourism can also help the environment and not only destroy it. In today’s technical age, we offer you something completely different.”
